Genomic Sequence Resource of <i>Alternaria alternata</i> Strain B3 Causing Leaf Blight on <i>Ophiopogon japonicus</i>

Black spot of Ophiopogon japonicus is an economically important disease, which can result in significant losses both yield and quality this traditional Chinese medicinal plant. The disease caused by the small-spored fungal pathogen Alternaria alternata, a necrotrophic fungus that ubiquitously distributed environment. Here, we present draft whole-genome sequence A. alternata strain B3 black on O. japonicus. assembly consists 76 contigs with estimated genome size 33.8 Mb. Furthermore, identified genes may be associated pathogenicity, such as carbohydrate-active enzymes, secreted proteins, secondary metabolite gene clusters. This resource will provide useful source for future research evolution pathogenicity phylogenomic analysis delineating phylogenetic lineages within genus Alternaria.
